Collection: Atomic Glam Theme Pack

Atomic Age Design, Mid Century Modern and Glam Rock all thrown into one! How i came up with this one is a long story lol...

It all started with the initial idea of 50s diner theme pack. I love the whole diner aesthetic and would totally eat at Pop's in Riverdale 24/7. During the creation process I started thinking beyond the diner thing and started in on Mid Century Modern motifs and I couldn't really get them to blend, as one is more angular/fluid and the other is more organic/fluid. Plus the color pallets could not be further from each other.
So now I have this mish mash of two different styles though both kinda fall under atomic design, which was the onset of science / space exploration / more organic geometric shapes making their ways into design/art (space needle for example) For most Space age / Atomic age designs are interchangeable but each have their own nuisances. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_Age_(design)- it was an awesome time in our country design wise. Then throw in the sleek lines of MCM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-century_modern which is still very fluid and futuristic looking in my eyes.
Alot of the color schemes from this time period were very muddled and really wouldn't go with what I was trying to do in my head. And this is where my cousin Billy comes into play... He tagged me in a photo of a car asking if it's like the one we had - YES it was we had that wagon AND the van version of it. (attached) It brought back memories from the mid to late 70's - glam rock was in full force at the time with the likes of David Bowie and Elton John https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glam_rock and it hit me like a ton of bricks that I needed to bring the color scheme forward a decade or two. BLAM there it was. I played with the colors from our old vehicle but then realized the silver just wasn't doin it enough for me which is totally crazy as it's all I wear I hate gold....... then as if the heavens parted i was struck with a memory of a friends car in high school. Tammy had a GOLD Trans AM in the late 80's early 90s (I think it was a trans am if not very similar in shape) I WISH I had a picture of it!
And That my friends is how Atomic Glam was born....
